Recruiting

The Department of Economics at Bar-Ilan University invites applications for tenure-track junior and senior faculty positions in all fields of economics.

We are looking for candidates with strong research potential. Senior candidates should have an established publication record.

Knowledge of Hebrew is not required initially (though it is recommended), but successful candidates are expected to learn the language within two years of appointment. We will aim to allocate teaching in English during the first two years (entirely in English in the first year and mostly in English in the second year). Teaching after the initial two years will be in Hebrew. Candidates who are not fluent in Hebrew should mention their commitment to learning Hebrew in their cover letter.

The position is subject to budgetary approval by the Bar-Ilan University administration.

Candidates may send inquiries and applications to yuval.heller@biu.ac.il.

Applications should include a brief cover letter, CV, and job market paper. Three referees should send their letters of recommendation directly to the same email address.

To receive full consideration, applications should be submitted by November 1, 2026. The final application deadline is November 30, 2026.

Zoom interviews may take place in November or early December.

Job talks are expected to take place in December and in the first half of January.
