Altruism in Tullock Competition - Part 1
An equilibrium result may depend on the social benefit, which depends on the behavior and actions of each player, or in other words, the way in which each player weighs his or her personal benefit in relation to the social benefit. The work examines the effect of altruism as part of the equilibrium strategy on social welfare function in Tullock's model (Tullock, 1980) and in the model of Epstein et al. (2007), equilibrium stability in each of the models and whether these two results go hand in hand.
